I’m Michael – a licensed physical therapist and founder of Home Care Physical Therapy. I started this service with one clear goal in mind: to help older adults regain strength, confidence, and independence—all from the comfort of their own home through in-home physiotherapy for seniors.
I earned my Master’s in Physical Therapy from the University of Alberta and began my career at the Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital in 2015. There, I worked extensively with seniors recovering from surgeries, falls, and chronic conditions. My time on a specialized geriatric rehab unit exposed me to the unique challenges that seniors face as they age, such as:
Fall-related injuries (often resulting in hip or pelvic fractures)
Deconditioning from prolonged hospital stays or inactivity
Cognitive impairments like dementia
Joint replacements (hip and knee)
Neurological conditions like Parkinson’s, stroke, and multiple sclerosis
These experiences helped shape my passion for senior care. I believe strongly in personalized, goal-driven rehabilitation. It’s not just about what I want to see as a therapist—it’s about what you or your loved one want to be able to do again, whether it’s walking without fear, climbing stairs, or simply getting out of bed with ease. That’s the heart of effective in-home physiotherapy for seniors.
One of the most rewarding parts of my work is seeing the transformation in my clients: walking steadier, getting stronger, and living life with renewed confidence. But perhaps the most overlooked aspect of aging is the gradual loss of independence—and how powerful it can be to regain even a small part of it through consistent, expert care delivered at home.
Over the years, I noticed a troubling pattern: many seniors were discharged from rehab with a home exercise program, only to end up back in the hospital months later due to preventable setbacks. That’s why I started this mobile physiotherapy service—to provide ongoing, in-home physiotherapy for seniors, helping them stay active, accountable, and safe long after formal rehab ends.
With over a decade of experience in senior physical therapy, I bring clinical expertise, compassion, and consistency to every home visit. I’m here to support you or your loved one on the path to better health, mobility, and independence.
Stay tuned for future blog posts where I’ll share expert tips on fall prevention, home exercises, pain management, recovery after surgery, and much more—designed specifically for seniors and caregivers.
